Ingredient


Pumpkin _  1 1/2 cup(cut into cubes)
Lobia /Black eyed pea / Payar  _  1/2 cup( soaked for 2- 3 hours)
Turmeric powder  _ 1/2 tsp
Chilly powder  _  1/2 tsp
Salt  _  as needed

To Grind


Coconut Grated _ 2 1/2 tbsp
Jeera  _  1/2 tsp

To Roast


Coconut Oil _ 1/2 tbsp
Mustard. _  1 tsp
Red Chilly dry _ 2-3
Curry leaves  _ few
Coconut finely grated _   1/2 cup

1. Cook lobia in a pressure cooker for 1 or 2 whistle or till its cooked ( should not be over cooked too) , adding turmeric powder, chilly powder, salt. Once the pressure cooker cools down add pumpkin and cook for 1 whistle or till the pumpkin is cooked.

                                                                              

2. Mean while in the small bowl of mixer grind coarsely ingredients 'to grind' .( with out adding much water.



3. Add the ground coconut jeera mix to cooked pumpkin and mix well ( in low flame).


4. Switch off and  Keep the cooker aside .In a small kadai , heat oil in medium flame add mustard,once it splutter add red chillies ,then add finely grated coconut. Fry till coconut turns golden brown in colour.( for frying coconut should be evenly grated to give proper texture and taste. *optional_You can grind coconut in low power for a second .)
Add curry leaves to the seasonings.





5. Finally add the seasonings to cooked pumpkin .Mix well . Serve hot with rice .
