Sound simple and easy, but planning the menu for a day is not an easy task.Once the menu is decided half job is done !! All you need is to find 10 minutes time during weekend to plan your menu for the coming week.
Breakfast is the most important meal of a day .
For weekdays plan some thing easy and quick to prepare at the same time healthy and nutritious,which you can be packed for snack/lunch box too 👍.
This is a simple and typical South Indian breakfast menu.
Idli
Sambar
Coconut Chutney.
* I used red chillies( instead of green chillies) in this chutney.
Preparation to be done on previous day or weekends.
1. Prepare the batter .
You can prepare batter for 3-4 days or a week and store in fridge.
2.Grate coconut and store in fridge and use as needed.
Morning Preparations
1.Morning first boil dal in pressure cooker. Mean while you can steam the first set of idlis .
2.When the dal is getting cooked ,wash and cut the vegetables for sambar ,soak
tamarind and keep sambar powder ready.
3. Your idlis should be ready by now . Allow it to cool down.
4. Now pressure cook vegetables for sambar .
5.Remove the idlis and transfer to a serving dish.
5. Steam the next set of idlis.(skip this step if not preparing more 😊)
6. Now grind chutney and transfer to a small bowl. Keep aside .
7.Allow the second set of idlis to cool down.
8.Add tamarind paste and sambar masala to the sambar .Bring to boil and finish off the sambar .
9.In a small frying pan heat oil and add seasonings to chutney and then to sambar .
10.Remove the second set of idlis too.
11.You breakfast is ready.
12. You can make some mini idlis along and pack for snacks too .
