Onion Red chilly Chutney/ South Indian Chutney Recipe

This onion chutney is my mother's recipe .She always make this chutney with dosa. I too often make this chutney with dosa, and with idlis I prefer coconut chutney .

*You can replace peanuts with grated coconut.  




Ingredients

Onion   _  1 big
Red chilly  _   2-3 
Peanuts  _  1 tbsp
Oil  _  2 tsp
Salt  _  to taste




1.Dry roast peanut in a kadai .

2.Keep aside the peanuts and dry roast onion cut into cubes and red chillies till light golden brown .(about 5 mins)
3.Coarsely grind onion ,red chillies and peanut adding salt and water, transfer to a bowl.

4. In a small frying pan heat oil, in medium flame add mustard once it splutter red chilly(optional) and curry leaves .Add to chutney.
5.Serve with dosas.
