This is a simple, quick, typical South Indian lunch menu. Today's lunch menu include :
Plain rice
Sambar,
Cabbage Thoran
Curd
Pickle and Pappad.
This menu can be combined with your breakfast menu too...Whenever I prepare sambar as side dish for breakfast,keep some for lunch too or better say sambar will be included in my lunch menu only if I 'm preparing for breakfast.
Step by step preparation method.
1.Pressure cook dal for sambar.
2.While its getting ready chop the vegetables for sambar.
3.Now soak tamarind and keep the sambar masala ready.
4.Your dal must be ready by now .Add vegetables let it cook.
5.Now start chop cabbage .
6.Grind coconut for thoran and keep aside.
7.Keep the kadai and start preparing cabbage thoran.
8. Meanwhile add tamarind and then sambar masala .
10.Stir the cabbage in-between, when cabbage gets cooked add coconut mix.
11.Add seasoning to sambar.
12.As you wind up pressure cook rice .
