Tomato _ 1
Ginger Garlic crushed _ 1+1 tsp
Curd _ 1/2 cup
Turmeric powder _ 1/4 +1/2 tsp
Chilly powder _ 1/4 +1/2 tsp
Garam Masala _ 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder _ 1/2 tsp
Lemon Juice _ 1 tsp
Salt _ as needed
Oil _ as needed
cardamom _ 2 -3
Cloves _ 2
Jeera /cumin _ 1 tsp
Fennel_ 1 tsp
Cashew _ 8-10
Bay leaves _ 1
Cinnamon _ 1 inch piece
1.In a pressure cook, cook the potatoes(for 1 or 2 whistles) .Allow it to cool down and remove the skin .Now in a kadai Fry the potatoes adding turmeric, chilly powder, salt till light golden brown in colour and keep aside .
2.Saute the ingredients 'to grind' except cashews. Allow it to cool down and grind adding cashews to it, to a smooth paste and keep aside .
3.In a kadai add the ingredients under 'to temper' and saute ginger ,garlic till golden brown colour.Add the ground paste saute for 2 minutes, add tomatoes and let it get cooked .
4.Now add coriander powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, chilly powder cook till oil leaves the side of the kadai.
5.In low flame add curd and mix well and simmer for a minute. Now add enough water, with roasted potatoes and bring to boil.
6.Finally add lemon juice and garnish with coriander leaves.
Preparation Time : 15 min
Cooking Time : 30 min
Serves : 4
*Do not over cook potatoes. Give only one or two whistle in cooker.
*Add yoghurt in low flame.
*The gravy should be in semi _thick, 3/4 -1 cup water is only needed.
*Potatoes can be deep fried too.
