Rajma Masala Recipe

Rajma is said to have bought to Indian sub_continent from Mexico. Nutritious and filling rajma masala when served with rice is  delectable meal. Rajma masala is a North Indian dish made with rajma in onion, tomato gravy with spices.



Ingredients

Rajma _ 1 cup
Onion _ 1
Tomato _ 3
Green chilly _ 2
Ginger garlic Crushed _ 1+1 tsp
Red chilly powder _ 1 tsp
Garam masala powder  _ 1/2 tsp
Coriander  powder  _ 2 tsp
Fresh Cream _ 3 tbsp
Salt _ as needed

To Temper

Cinnamon _ 1 inch long piece
Cloves _ 1
Bay leaf _ 1
Oil _ 2-3 tsp


    1.Soak Rajma for 12 hours/over night. Pressure cook for 6-8 whistles,with enough water.

       2.In a kadai / pan, heat oil and temper cinnamon, cloves and bay leaf. Add the chopped onion. Fry till turns golden brown in colour.Add ginger garlic, green chillies and fry for a minute. 

        3.Add chopped tomatoes. Mix well.
        4.Add salt, red chilly powder, garam masala powder and coriander powder. Cook in medium flame till tomatoes are cooked and oil separated from the side of the kadai.

        5.Add the rajma and cook in medium flame for 5 minutes.


          6.Mix well, let water get reduced.(or add enough water if less).
            7.And finally add fresh cream. Simmer for a minute. Switch off the flame.
